Description

** As of December 15, 2022, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established.** Separate sealed BIDS for the construction of MtBE Watermain Extension: to expand the Epping Public Water System in a westerly direction to provide public water service to multiple properties that have tested positive for MtBE in their private wells. The project will consist of the construction of approximately 22,000 +/- LF of new water main extension, 64 new water service connections on private property including interior plumbing modifications of private homes affected by MtBE contamination, the decommissioning of 19 contaminated private wells, 88 additional corporation and curb stops with water service line capped at the edge of the ROW for MtBE eligible properties and for properties for the same side service as the water main along the construction route, and the construction of a new booster pump station on a Town owned lot. In addition to the water main work the Town is replacing drainage along Railroad Ave. and Main Street, and sewer main rehabilitation along Railroad Ave. 1. Completion time for the project will be calculated as calendar days from the date specified in the "Notice to Proceed" as follows: 540 calendar days for substantial completion. 600 calendar days for final completion Liquidated damages will be in the amount of $1,000.00 for each calendar day of delay from the date established for substantial completion, and $1,000.00 for each calendar day of delay from the date established for final completion 2. Each General Bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of 5% of the Total Bid Price. 3. The successful Bidder must furnish 100% Performance and Payment Bonds and will be required to execute the Contract Agreement within 10 days following notification of the acceptance of his Bid. 4. Any contract or contracts awarded under this Advertisement for Bids are expected to be funded in whole or in part by: \ Local Funds \ A grant from the NH Drinking Water and Groundwater Trust Fund. \ A grant from the NH MtBE Remediation Bureau. Use of MtBE settlement funds for this project are subject to the availability of funding. 5. The successful Bidder on this work is required to comply with the President's Executive Order No. 11246 entitled "Equal Employment Opportunity" as amended by Executive order 11375, and amendments or supplements thereto, and as supplemented in Department of Labor Regulations (41 CFR Part 60). The requirements for bidders and contractors under this order are explained in the Information For Bidders. 6.
