Description

As of Oct 5, 2023 the project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established . The scope of this project includes, but is not limited to, the following: renovation of a 47,000-square-foot educational facility. As of August 10, 2023, a general contractor has not yet been selected for this project. A firm construction timeline for this project has not yet been released. Binghamton University is looking for a qualified contractor for the interior renovation of approximately 47,0000 SF of the Science III building on Binghamton University's Campus. This cast-in-place concrete building was constructed in 1970 and is undergoing a critical maintenance project. This project includes but is not limited to removal and replacement of existing mechanical, electrical and plumbing infrastructure, removal of hazardous materials, removal and replacement of exterior windows, door and faulty building envelope components, installation of a new fire protection system and renovation of labs and offices. This is Phase 1 of a three-phase project each consisting of interior demolition and renovation. The demolition portion of this phase has already been completed and the awarded contractor will begin with a mostly emptied space with minimal demolition and hazardous material removal. The presence of hazardous material has been detected and identified and will need to be abated according to local, state and federal law. This phase encompasses approximately one third of the buildings square footage and will remain occupied during the upgrades. Therefore, work will need to be coordinated to accommodate the occupants what will continue to reside within the building during construction. Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Set Aside: No Minority Owned Sub-Contracting Goal: 4% Women Owned Sub-Contracting Goal: 26% Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business Contracting Goal: 6% Contract term: 300 Calendar Days.
