Description | The project provides for infrastructure improvements along R Avenue between 34th St and 22nd St. Work includes in stalling temporary erosion control measures; removing certain existing features; clearing and grubbing of widened sidewalk areas; saw cutting and removing concrete curbs, gutters, and sidewalks, as well as asphalt pavement; installing stormwater systems for collection, conveyance, and treatment of road runoff; reconstructing road sections of R Ave; upgrading the existing R Ave and 30th St intersection with a new single-lane roundabout; modifying the R Ave median to reduce vehicle crossing points; relocating pedestrian crossings and bus shelters; installing cement concrete curbs, gutters, driveways, bike ramps, sidewalks, truck aprons, splitter islands, and ADA facilities; paving with HMA; installing illumination, landscaping, pavement markings, and permanent signing; restoring disturbed areas; roadside cleanup; traffic control; construction and licensed surveying; and other work. The project is approximately 3,600 feet long. A bid deposit equal to 5% of the bid amount is required. The deposit may be in cashier's check, postal money order, or surety bond. Title VI - Language on Civil Rights Act of 1964: The City of Anacortes, in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4) and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award. The project has an 11% mandatory DBE goal and a training goal of 400 hours. Engineers estimated cost range is $3,700,000 to $4,200,000. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any minor irregularities in the bidding documents. |
