Description | The northerly end of Willard Street in South Portland Maine and extends across Willard Beach approximately 480 feet across the beach into the intertidal zone between mean low and mean high water. Removing and replacing an existing clay and cast iron pipe storm drain outfall running across Willard Beach ranging in size from 16” to 24” with a new 30” diameter fusion welded HDPE pipe with precast concrete collar ballast weights. The work extends from upland areas at the end of Willard Street, across the beach into the intertidal zone where the new pipe is to connect to an existing 24” cast iron outfall pipe to remain. The work includes approximately 350 linear feet of fusion welded pipe and 130 linear feet of standard storm drain pipe. The work includes installing new 4’ and 5’ diameter manholes and removing a cast in place concrete sewer vault on the beach near the high tide line. Work includes restoring dune plantings disturbed by the work and repaving the north end of Willard Street. |
