| Description | Robert Goddard Montessori School scope of work is the major replacement of the HVAC system. The existing mechanical system core is composed of two gas fired steam boilers and a small chiller. A heat exchanger produces hot water from steam and is fed to equipment in various locations. The addition is served by rooftop units. Downstream unitary equipment serving the main building includes unit ventilators in classrooms and offices supplied by air handling units (AHUs) in the penthouse (steam and chilled water). Classrooms are heated by the unit ventilators and air conditioned by window air conditioning units. Fin tube radiators in various locations also are supplied by hot water. All supply steam and condensate piping mains are under slab. Existing chilled water lines are installed in plenum space. The scope of work will also include replacement of exterior windows, doors, and storefronts. Existing windows and doors have exceeded their usable life and contribute to poor environmental conditions and security issues in the facility. Existing window wall systems shall be replaced with a commercial grade aluminum window wall and paneling systems. The glazing will consist of LOWE Glass with replaceable extruded rubber. The storefront doors will receive new hardware including; panic devices, lock hardware, closers, pulls, door sweeps, thresholds etc. This will include new flashing and metal cladding of exposed surfaces. Existing window units and will replaced with commercial grade single hung aluminum windows with double insulated units including, which will receive new flashing and metal cladding of exposed surfaces. Scope of work to include replacement of ceiling systems in complete facility. Scope shall include grid, supports, lighting, etc. New LED lighting shall be coordinated with PGCPS Building Services Management Analyst and local utility company. Scope of work will include providing a complete sprinkler fire protection system for the entire building. | ||||||||||
