Description

Secondary Roadways: Asphalt driving surfaces, unless specified otherwise in AREAS TO BE ADDRESSED following this section, shall meet the following criteria: a. The excavated area shall be square cut to the dimensions listed in AREAS TO BE ADDRESSED. b. All asphalt repairs shall be square or rectangular in shape. No trapezoids or curved sides. c. All sides shall be parallel and uniform in shape unless stipulated for a site listed in AREAS TO BE ADDRESSED. d. Sufficient asphalt, crusher run, and/or subsurface road material shall be removed to accommodate 4-inches of SM 9.5A asphalt concrete. Before installing the new SM 9.5A asphalt concrete, the road bedding shall be mechanically compacted with a vibrating compactor. e. The asphalt concrete shall be compacted and rolled to restore the normal driving surface profile in conjunction with the VDOT Bituminous Pavement Patch Standard for Secondary Roads. Crews are expected to be fully equipped and 100 percent ready to start work when they report to the site. If the work does not progress at a satisfactory rate or is otherwise deemed unsatisfactory by JCSA, the JCSA reserves the right to terminate the assignment to that Contractor and re-award the project. No additional compensation will be allowed to the Contractor because of such termination. Repair the asphalt roadway, in kind, approximately 3-feet by 18 feet square cut. B. Contractor is responsible for traffic and pedestrian safety. Traffic control is required C. Contractor is responsible for removal of all temporary patch and the disposal of it. D. Contractor may use the JCSA Land Use permit# 018-123694 for this location. 2. 27 Bray Wood: (W/O# 44427892): The physical address is on Kingsmill Road approximately 575 feet past Bray Wood Road going toward Warehams Pond Road. Kingsmill Mill requires Brownstone asphalt, A. Repair asphalt roadway, in kind, approximately 5-feet by 8 feet square cut. B. Contractor is responsible for traffic and pedestrian safety. Traffic control is required C. Contractor is responsible for removal of all temporary patch and the disposal of it. D. Contractor may use the JCSA Land Use permit# 018-123694 for this location. 3. 3200 Deerfield Ct: (W/O# 44427282): There are two(2) repairs at this location. A. Repair asphalt roadway, in kind, approximately 2-feet by 6 feet, square cut. B. Replace the exposed aggregate curb and gutter, in-kind, approximately 2 feet by 6 feet, square cut. C. Install expansion joint in sidewalk. Contractor is responsible for traffic and pedestrian safety. D. Contractor is responsible for traffic and pedestrian safety. Traffic control is required E. Contractor is responsible for removal of all temporary patch and the disposal of it. F. Contractor may use the JCSA Land Use permit# 018-123694 for this location. 4. 2680 Sir Thomas Way: (W/O# 44425815): A.
