Description | The RFP process will consist of two stages. The first stage (RFP-A/B) will be a qualifications based review. From these responses, firms will be shortlisted to proceed to the next stage. The second stage (RFP-C) will consist of interviews. Renovate four instructional/teaching labs, labs support spaces, computational research labs to support 15 researchers and with up to 150 graduate students, electrical shop, restrooms, elevator modernization, classrooms, staff offices and collaboration area on the first floor of the Max W and Maileen Brown Family Hall, formerly the Electrical Engineering Building. Upgrade mechanical, electrical and HVAC systems that primarily serve the renovated first floor space. Create robotics research lab to MSEE. Install overhead doors in new walls between the labs to allow flexibility in adjusting space for various electrical and computer engineering course sizes; the doors can be opened for larger class sizes or closed for smaller class sizes Replace flooring and lighting throughout the renovated space and student lab benches within the teaching labs Upgrade mechanical, electrical and HVAC systems that primarily serve the renovated first floor space. The electrical panels and air handling systems that serve the renovated space are near the end of their service lives and require upgrades. New restrooms on the north and south side of the building will provide increased plumbing fixture quantities and integrate facilities for both men and women in a consistent location from floor to floor. Renovate restrooms G17 and G54 to meet ADA requirements Modify and supplement exterior glazing systems to improve overall daylighting and transparency in and through the renovated spaces on the first floor |
