Description | Schneider Hall (Building 20) HVAC and Electrical Upgrades - The University of Louisville Procurement Services, on behalf of Physical Plant (PPD), will receive bids proposals for upgrading the HVAC and associated electrical systems at Schneider Hall. The project includes mechanical, HVAC, controls, and electrical work required to: o Replace AHUs 1-4 in basement mechanical room. Replace some associated ductwork and add variable air volume terminals with independent zone control. o Replace AHU-5 serving lobby. o Replace existing chilled water distribution pumps. o Replace existing steam to hot water heat exchangers. o Addition of heat recovery chiller for summer reheat. o Cleaning of HVAC system. Add Alternates: o Alt #1: Replacement of existing 13.8kv switchgear, transformer, and 120/208v main service switchboard. Refer to electrical plans for details. o Alt #2: Replace Liebert unit serving library o Alt #3: Add humidifiers to AHUs 1 thru 4 Questions Due - 2/20/2023 by 2:00PM Addendum Issued - 2/23/2023 Vendors requesting clarifications to this Invitation to Bid may submit in writing questions for official response by the University. Questions should be sent via email to Evan Riddell at evan.riddell@louisville.edu n Bids shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee of not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the base bid executed by a Surety Company authorized to do business in the State of Kentucky and countersigned by a licensed Kentucky Resident Agent representing the Surety Company. (Certified Check Acceptable) It is agreed that in the event that this bid is accepted by the owner and the Contractor shall fail to execute a contract within ten (10) consecutive calendar days from the date of notifications of the Award of Contract, the Owner shall determine that the contractor has abandoned the contract and thereupon, the Bid shall become null and void, and the bid guarantee, check of bid bond which accompanied it shall be forfeited and become the property of the Owner as liquidated damages for such failure and no protest pursuant to such action will be allowed. The awarded Contractor shall furnish a performance and payment bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price as security for the faithful performance of this contract and for the payment of all persons performing labor, including payment of all unemployed contributions which become due and payable under the Kentucky Unemployment Insurance Law furnishings materials in connection with this contract. The University reserves the right to reject any or all offers and to waive minor technicalities. The base bid scope of work includes removal of existing air handling units. Installation of new air handling units with VAVreheat terminals and adjustment of associated ductwork and piping as needed. Installation of new distribution pumps, heat exchangers, energy recovery chiller and direct digital controls. Cleaning of the existing HVAC systems and ductwork being reused. Rebalancing of existing registers, grilles and diffusers being reused. Some minor architectural work is also required. Alternates include replacement of existing 13.8kv switchgear, transformer, and 120/208v main service switchboard, replacement of Liebert unit serving library and adding humidifiers to AHU-1 thru 4. o Project start: May 15th, 2024 o Substantial Completion: August 11th, 2024 o Final Completion: August 18th, 2024 o Liquidated damages of $500/day Vendors requesting clarifications to this Invitation to Bid may submit in writing questions for official response by the University.
