Description

The selected bid will outline a clear implementable approach for planting a maximum of 4 acres (on 2-foot centers) of a selected 130-acre wetland cell (B2) of the Lake Apopka Marsh Flow-Way, recently cleared of vegetation and regraded to eliminate existing erosional short-circuits. The approach will include recommendations for suitability of planting through the driving surface adjacent to the two large ditches, or whether geotextile fabric is sufficient. Although listed as a driving surface, this strip will only be accessed during periodic maintenance every five years and will be inundated during normal operation. In addition to vegetation planting, the Contractor must identify and incorporate geotextile fabric (or some other biodegradable erosional control method) suitable for planting through, to assist with and/or augment sediment stabilization of ditch edges during cell operation.
