Fine Arts Renovations at McCallum High School

Scope of Work: 1. Addition of a 2 story building that will house 2 dedicated dance studios, with wood sprung floors on the main level, and service and support spaces on the second floor. Building is an addition to the existing Performing Arts Center at McCallum High School. Scope includes partial and selective demolition of existing site features, as well as partial demolition of existing awning, where new building will tie in. 2. Architectural: Addition of a 2 story, 12,000 SF building. Light frame metal stud exterior framing with masonry veneer finish, 5/8” air and water resistive sheathing board, 1.5” continuous semi rigid mineral wool board insulation, fluid applied air barrier with stainless steel flashing. Anodized aluminum will be utilized for storefront and window systems. 3. Roofing: new roofing with Modified Bitumen and rooftop equipment. 4. Civil: Site Plan Revision through City of Austin to reconfigure parking lot and impervious coverage of new building footprint. 5. Plumbing: Addition of two full restrooms with showers and lockers for students, Dance teacher office with Restroom. 6. HVAC: Mechanical rooftop units and addition of chiller plant to service the Dance Studio Building. 7. Electrical: Light package designed for Dance studio as well as controls for supporting spaces, office, costume storage, showers/changing rooms. 8. Structural: The building foundation will consist of drilled piers, slab on select fill, perimeter grade beams and thickened slab between piers. Structural steel columns and steel beams, with metal deck comprise the structural frame system.
