Intersection and Signal Improvements at I-85 and Kannapolis Parkway

As of July 20,2023, project was awarded to Sealand Contractors Corp., awarded amount is $740,542.22. The proposed work is generally described as follows: Construction of 200 LF right turn lane on Kannapolis Parkway at South Bound on ramp to I-85 and associated signal improvements. Each Bid shall be accompanied with a deposit of cash or CERTIFIED CHECK on some bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in an amount equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the Bid, said check to be made payable to the City of Kannapolis. Successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Construction Performance bond and a Construction Payment Bond equal to 100% of the contract amount as security for the faithful performance and the payment of all bids and obligations arising from the performance of the Contract. Bidders shall make a Good Faith Effort to use MBE and WBE subcontractors in accordance with Bid Documents. The MBE goal for the project is 1.0%, the WBE goal for this project is 2.0%. All questions related to this project during the advertisement period shall be submitted to David W. Lipe Project Engineer, at the office of the Engineer (email address is dlipe@awck.com). Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, including without limitation the right to reject any or all nonconforming, nonresponsive, unbalanced, or conditional bids, and to reject the bid of any Bidder if Owner believes that it would not be in the best interest of Owner to make an award to that Bidder.
