This project consists of the construction of a new Farmington High School building and renovations of a portion of the existing high school building for high school athletics and FPS Central Offices. The project includes abatement and demolition of the majority of the existing Farmington High School located on the same property after the new building is complete; followed by renovations, construction of tennis courts and completion of sitework. The Work is defined by two State project numbers: 052-0076N for work associated with the Farmington High School (includes new HS building and portion of renovated building) and 052-0077BE for work associated with the FPS Central Offices (other portion of renovated building). Phase 1 of the Farmington High School project, State Project No. 052-0076N: Early Site Enabling has already been awarded and is currently underway. This phase of work consists of the construction of a temporary bituminous parking lot in the field located adjacent to the Farmington Library, the installation of a temporary pedestrian path, temporary fencing and gates, as well as traffic control signage. These bid documents are specific to Phase 2 of the Farmington High School and Phase 1 of FPS Central Office projects, described as follows: Construction of the new Farmington High School; abatement and demolition of the existing High School, renovations of existing high school building after demo (a portion of this renovation area is the FPS Central Offices project), construction of the tennis courts and completion of all remaining sitework improvements. This project consists of the construction of a new approx. 239,500 SF steel-framed building constructed with typical spread footings, structural steel, fireproofed, with CFMF and/or CMU back up wall structure covered with brick veneer and large curtainwall and storefront, and an EPDM roof to complete the building envelope. All new utility services will provide electrical, gas and water from the street to the building. The new building and all adjacent site improvements for parking and drive access will be constructed beginning in November of 2022 and completed in early August of 2024. Following turnover of the new school building, abatement/demolition and renovations of the existing high school building, and construction of the new tennis courts will commence. Abatement and demolition is scheduled to be complete in November 2024, with all renovation work scheduled for completion in March 2025. Final sitework will extend into May 2025.
