Description

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is requesting bids for Overlay Chip/Fog Seal ADA Upgrades Milltown E Missoula Area. Questions or information relating to either specifications or requirements of this solicitation must be asked through the eMACS Q&A Board. Potential bidders must log into eMACS to submit a question on the Q&A Board. Contractor will provide all labor, equipment, materials, incidentals, and traffic control to remove and replace concrete curb and gutter, curb inlet frames and grates prior to commencing work on the Mill and Fill and Overlay portion of the project. Construct new ADA compliant sidewalk, curb and gutter and inlet structures according to the MDT provided plans and MDT Standard Specifications. Contractor will provide all labor, equipment, materials, incidentals, and traffic control to cold mill approximately 180,400 square yards of roadway at a depth of .15" as directed by MDT's project manager. The Contractor is responsible for hauling and disposal of the generated cold millings. Contractor is responsible for adjusting 5 manhole structures as directed by the MDT project manager following cold milling operations and prior to the Overlay portion of the contract. Contractor will provide all labor, equipment, materials, incidentals, and traffic control necessary to produce, haul, place, tack and compact approximately 17,900 tons of 1/2" Commercial Plant Mix Grade S PG 64-28 asphalt mix material. The overlay shall be paved .15 feet thick and approximately 41 feet wide. Contractor is responsible for identifying centerline prior to paving and must use an identifiable method to maintain consistent centerline control (i.e., Stringline or Paint) with approval from MDT's project manager when paving. Before commencing with the Chip Seal, the Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, materials, incidentals, and traffic control necessary to install approximately 19 (nineteen) miles of Sinusoidal rumble strips on the centerline and shoulder of the roadway following completion of the Overlay as directed by the MDT project manager. Contractor to determine the centerline and place reflective tabs prior to the chip seal. The chip seal will be approximately 7.5 miles long and 41 feet wide. Contractor shall provide CHFRS-2P asphalt emulsion & Type 1 chips. Traffic control with pilot cars must be maintained until dusk or fading light each workday as determined by the Project Manager. The emulsion application rate for chip seals is estimated at .41 gallons per square yard. The cover material application rate is estimated at 23 pounds per square yard.
