Description

Roadway identified a reasonably consistent, gravel road surface for the Faust pavement that appropriate for application of a cement treated base (CTB). The Pavement does have some softer subbbase and subgrade layers, however, since the treated layer bridges over the soft and weak subgrade, a cement treated base and a double chip seal asphalt surface is reasonable. To achieve desired performance, a 4% to 5% cement content, by weight, is anticipated. Thecost of surface replacement of the roadways was also evaluated.
