Description | Budget is $500K-$1M Project: CITY OF WESTWEGO WHARF PHASE 2 ROADWAY CROSSING #1 VAN NESS DRIVE WESTWEGO, LA 70094 The Base Bid work provides for the construction of an earthen roadway crossing over water including the construction of fill, drainage pipe, rip rap, crushed stone surfacing and fencing. All bids must be in accordance with the contract documents on file with the City of Westwego, 1100 Fourth Street (City Hall), Westwego, Louisiana 70094. Late bids will not be accepted. Each Bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashiers check, or bid bond acceptable to the owner in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total amount bid, including all alternates (if applicable), and payable without condition to the owner as a guarantee that the bidder, if awarded the contract, will promptly execute a contract in accordance with his proposal and all terms and conditions of the contract documents. Deposit on the first set of documents furnished bona fide prime bidders will be fully refunded upon return of documents in good condition no later than ten (10) days after the opening of bids. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond guaranteeing faithful performance of the contract. Companies providing the bonds shall comply with the requirements of LRS-R.S. 38:2218 and R.S. 38:2219, as applicable. Per City of Westwego Resolution No. 2020-06(C), the City of Westwego will not accept any bonds from American Contractors Indemnity Company. The City of Westwego reserves the right to reject all bids and to reject bids for just cause, pursuant to the law. The City of Westwego is fully committed to awarding a contract(s) to firm(s) that will provide high quality services and that are dedicated to diversity and to containing costs. The City of Westwego strongly encourages the involvement of minority and/or woman-owned business enterprises (DBEs, including MBEs, WBEs and SBEs) to stimulate participation in procurement and assistance programs. Furthermore, failure to attend the pre-bid conference and inspection does not relieve the successful bidder from the necessity of furnishing materials or performing any work that may be required to complete the work in accordance with the specifications with no additional cost to the owner.
