| Description | The Legacy Trail Extension Project (“Project”) will include building (i) approximately 8 miles of paved, multi-use trail for non-motorized traffic, from the Hugh Culverhouse Nature Park and extending north to Fruitville Road in the City of Sarasota, (ii) approximately 4.5 miles of multi-use trail for the North Port Connector, (iii) at-grade crossings of intersecting public roads and bridges spanning two branches of Philippi Creek and the Deer Prairie Slough. Additional overpasses, bridges, boardwalks and other land or water crossings may be included depending on final route selection, public input and funding availability. There is a potential for existing railroad trestle bridges to be converted for trail use, where appropriate. This Project shall also include improvements to County-owned water, wastewater and communications utility infrastructure. | ||||
