Cape Cod Gateway Airport Operations Modifications and T Hanger project Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. Project Estimate: $ $4.8 Million The project consists of two phases, combined into a single contract; Phase A: T Hangar Replacement; and Phase B: Airport Operations Modification and Upgrade (ARFF building). The Project includes work related to civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and architectural elements. (a) Phase A includes the demolition of the existing T-Hangar Structure located on site and the construction of a new T-Hangar Structure. The building will be one story in height and approximately 8,870 sf in area with six hangar spaces and two storage rooms. The structure will have galvanized steel columns, a concrete slab on grade, corrugated,metal siding, which is classified as Type IIB construction. Each hangar space is served by a bi-folding, motorized hangar door that is approximately 44 ft wide by 14 ft high. The hangar doors are equipped with man doors for egress. The building will be equipped with an automatic sprinkler system, fire alarm system, and fire extinguishers throughout. (b) Phase B project consists of an Alteration of a portion of the existing two story ARFFSRE building. The building is a mixed used 14,544 sf occupancy primarily classified as group B occupancy with space used for air rescue, firefighting and vehicle maintenance operations; The building is sprinklered throughout. The alteration includes selective demolition of a portion of the exterior, and the renovation of the existing operations & lounge room at the northwestern end of the building, the addition an internal vestibule for direct access to the space from the airport ramp DBE (3.7%) Bid Result.
