Maryland Department of Public Works Project to Re-roof Highway Department Buildings

The Dorchester County Council hereby notifies all bidders that in regard to any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement; bidders will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this notice and will not be subjected to discrimination on the basis of race, color, sex or national origin in consideration for an award. The County reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive formalities, informalities and technicalities therein, and to take whatever bid they determine to be in the best interest of the County considering the lowest or best bid, quality of goods and work, time of delivery or completion, responsibility of bidders being considered, previous experience of bidders, or any other factors they deem appropriate. Questions: All Questions must be received by August 30, 2022 2:00 pm. Scope of Work - Building A. Single ply membrane roofing o Remove all existing roofing, flashing and associated perimeter metals and dispose in County provided dumpster. Satellite dish shall be salvaged for reuse. o Inspect metal roof sheathing and replace any deteriorated on a time and material basis. Pre-approval required by Public Works staff. o Install new R30 insulation (per code requirements). o Install new cover board over entire roof area, mechanically fasten in place. o Install a 60 mil TPO single ply membrane roof system over the entire roof area and up walls as required. o Flash all walls, perimeter eaves and pipe penetrations as required. o Fabricate and install new pre-finished 24 ga Kynar steel perimeter edge metal and coping caps on the parapets. o Fabricate and install new pre-finished 24 ga Kynar steel counter flashing at the masonry chimney and seal with non-shrinking caulk. Grind out the mortar joint and insert the reglet metal. o Install new wood fascia, cladding & fabricate and install new 7 inch aluminum box gutters and down spots. o Remove all debris, safety equipment, and walk the project with Public Works Rep. o Furnish a 10 year labor and material warranty. Scope of Work- Building B. Single ply membrane roofing. o Remove existing wall flashings and associated perimeter metals and dispose of in County provided dumpster. o Install new cover board over the entire roof area, mechanically fastened in place. o Install a 60 mil TPO single ply membrane roof system over the entire roof area and up the walls as required. o Flash all walls, perimeter eaves and penetrations as required. o Fabricate and install new pre-finished 24 ga Kynar steel perimeter edge metal and coping caps on the parapets. o Install new self-adhering ice and water shield at the eave of the steep slope roof area. o Install new underlayment over the balance of the roof area. o Install new pre-finished white aluminum drip edge at the eaves and rakes. o Install new Owens Corning Duration architectural shingles. o Fabricate and install new pre-finished 24 ga Kynar steel counter flashing at the masonry headwall and seal with non-shrinking caulk. Grind out the mortar joint and insert the reglet metal. o Install new wood fascia, cladding & fabricate and install new 7 inch aluminum box gutters and down spouts. o Remove all debris, safety equipment, and walk the project with Public Works Rep. o Furnish a 10 year labor warranty, 10 year membrane warranty and 40 year shingle warranty. Scope of Work - Building C. Shingle Replacement. o Protect the perimeter grounds/landscaping with tarps as needed. o Remove existing roofing, underlayment, and associated flashings down to the substrate and dispose using County provided dumpster. o Inspect wood sheathing and replace any deteriorated plywood/wood plank at a time and material rate approved by Public Works. o Install a 36 inch course of ice shield self-adhering underlayment at the eaves and penetrations. o Install new synthetic underlayment over the balance of the roof area. o Install new pre-finished white aluminum drip edge along the eaves and rakes. o Install new starter shingles along the eaves and rakes. o Install new Owens Corning Duration lifetime architectural shingles. o Install new hard baffle ridge vent and associated ridge cap shingles. o Install new plumbing vent pipe flanges, painted to match shingle color. o Install new pre-finished white alum K-style gutters and 3inchX4inch white alum spouts. o Remove all debris and dispose of. Clean up all nails using magnetic device. o 10 year labor warranty, 40 year shingle warranty. Scope of Work - Building D. Shingle Replacement. o Protect the perimeter grounds with tarps as needed. o Remove existing roofing, underlayment, and associated flashing down to the substrate and dispose using County provided dumpster. o Inspect wood sheathing and replace any deteriorated plywood/wood plank at a time and material rate approved by Public Works. o Install course of ice shield self-adhering underlayment at the eaves and penetrations. o Install new synthetic underlayment over the balance of the roof area. o Install new pre-finished white aluminum drip edge along eaves and rakes. o Install new starter shingles along the eaves and rakes. o Install new Owens Corning Duration lifetime architectural shingles. o Install new hard baffle ridge vent and associated ridge cap shingles. o Remove all debris and dispose of.
