Description

In general, the work consists of replacement of the top two layers of media and the rotary distributors for the two Nitrification Towers; replacement of the non-potable water strainer and associated valves; replacement of the piping between the dust collector and the storage silos and repainting of the dust collector; installation of piping and a control chamber to re-route the plant internal recycle stream; construction of a new return sludge channel and restoration of the settled sewage channels at the Aeration Tanks, including replacement of the influent slide gates at the City of Lima, Ohio, Wastewater Treatment Plant. Bids must be submitted on the forms bound herein, must contain the names of every person or company interested therein, and shall be accompanied by either a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond in the amount of 100% of the amount bid with satisfactory corporate surety, or by a certified check on a solvent bank in the amount of not less than 10% of the amount of the Bid, subject to conditions provided in the Instructions to Bidders. The successful bidder will be required to furnish satisfactory Performance Bond and Maintenance and Guarantee Bond in the amount of 100% of the Bid. The Contractor shall be required to pay not less than the prevailing wage rates established by the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services, Wage and Hour Division. Any Bid may be withdrawn prior to the scheduled closing time for receipt of Bids, but no bidder shall withdraw his Bid within 60 days after the actual opening thereof. The successful bidder will be required to complete the "Declaration Regarding Material Assistance/Non-Assistance to a Terrorist Organization" (DMA) in accordance with ORC Section 2909.32 and 2909.33. The City of Lima reserves the right to waive any Bid or Bid process irregularities, which the City determines in its sole discretion to be in its favor, to reject any or all Bids for any reason determined to be appropriate in the sole discretion of the City, and to award the Bid to the lowest and best bidder meeting the City's needs as determined by the City at the City's sole discretion.
