Description

SCOPE OF CONTRACT This project includes reconstructing the existing dump station at the Stanley Ranger Station including the expansion from one dump location to four dump locations. Work includes demolition of existing road, utility, and dump station infrastructure and installation of the new dump stations including concrete islands, curbs and various slabs, asphalt pavement, water towers, and associated utilities. Work includes excavating, trenching, bedding, backfilling, erosion control, valves and valve boxes, culvert, drain, and other work as indicated in drawings and specifications. Optional work that may be awarded includes work associated with the following: 1. Option #1: Chip seal. C.2 PROJECT LOCATON The project is located in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area of the Sawtooth National Forest, Custer County, Idaho, in Section 22, T10N, R13E, Boise Meridian. It is located approximately three miles south of Stanley, Idaho. The project may be accessed from State Highway 75 and Forest Roads 70433 and 70434. C.3 MAGNITUDE OF CONSTRUCTION PROJECT The estimated price range of this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. C.4 SITE INFORMATION AND LIMITATIONS The following site conditions are considered incidental to the contract and the contractor will not be paid directly for any of the following items: 1. The Dump Station Entrance Roadway and Dump Station area will be closed to the public during construction. The Contractor will be responsible for providing the appropriate traffic control to ensure there is no vehicle access. The Ranger Station Entrance Roadway will remain open during construction. The Contractor will be responsible for providing the appropriate traffic control. 2. All construction equipment shall be pressure washed before entering National Forest System lands. The removal of mud and debris from treads, tracks and undercarriage, with emphasis on axles, frame, cross-members, motor mounts, and underneath steps, running boards, and front bumper/brushguard assemblies will be required. The purpose is to reduce or eliminate the transportation of noxious weeds, which is required by Federal and State regulations. 3. Water is available at the site for construction purposes until the system is demolitioned at which time water may be withdrawn from the water system at locations and manner agreed upon by the Contracting Officer. The Contractor shall be responsible for coordinating the installation of temporary power for the site, if desired but contractor may choose to install the new electrical outlet at the beginning of the project to have access to power. 4. The Contractor shall provide temporary toilet facilities (porta-potty) at the site during all construction work. TRAFFIC CONTROL & CONSTRUCTION SIGNING No work that endangers, interferes, or conflicts with traffic or access to work sites shall be performed until a plan for satisfactory warning and handling of traffic has been submitted by the contractor and approved by the COR and Idaho Department of Transportation. Construction signing for traffic control shall conform to the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). Contractor shall not be paid directly for this item, rather it will be considered incidental to other items of work listed in the Schedule of Items The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
