Description

Estimate: less than $4M Project consists of the new addition of a Life Skills classroom, a conference room, office and storage room on the first floor. Work includes adding a second floor above the last addition (mostly administration) which was designed with a concrete slab under the roofing materials. The existing building, plus the addition will accommodate 11 classrooms, plus toilets, etc. Two stairwells and an elevator will be added. CLARIFICATION per Addendum 1:The last day to receive substitution requests is February 10, 2023. The last day to issue an addendum is February 14, 2023. Scope requires removing a wall between the art room and the band room to create a larger band room. ********************** From Orig RFQ: Anderson District One is seeking proposals from firms with the qualifications to submit proposals for general contracting services. The project is an addition and renovation to the Powdersville Middle School, 135 Hood Rd., Greenville, SC 29611. A pre-planned 14,255 square foot second-floor classroom addition will be constructed above an existing administration wing. The first floor has two additions including a new staircase and elevator on one side and a classroom, conference room, office, storage room and staircase on the opposite side. The second-floor addition contains 11 classrooms, a small conference room, a resource room, and toilets. Apart from the concrete block structures for the stairs and elevator, the building is steel framed with a low-slope single-ply roofing system. The exterior materials include storefront and brick veneer to match the existing school. The addition is not sprinklered and is connected to the adjacent classroom building with a 3-hour fire wall. The renovation of the existing band room includes the removal of one non-load-bearing wall and updating finishes. Anderson District One would like to begin construction of the second-floor exterior shell in spring while the first-floor administration building below is in use. During the summer, demolition of the existing roof would begin so that interior work could be complete by the end of the 2023 year. Site work includes minimal demolition, relocating an existing water line, grading, and a new pedestrian ramp. Construction documents are being prepared and pdfs will be shared at the Pre-Qualifications Conference.
