Jaworek Elementary School HVAC Upgrade - Sub

Contractor Qualification DCAMM Certificate Project Project PF 2023-06 HVAC Improvement Project at Jaworek Elementary School, 444 Hosmer St. Funded in part from a federal ESSER II grant. IFB for General and Filed Sub-Bids. MBE/WBE goals per contract documents. The City of Marlborough, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids from General Contractors (GC) and Filed Sub-Bidders (FSB) for the HVAC Upgrades Project at the Jaworek School, Project PF 2023-06 in accordance with the Contract Documents prepared by RFS Engineering. The scope of the base contract includes and is not limited to the following: The project will upgrade most of the existing school's mechanical system, including associated and necessary general demolition work and electrical work. The existing school is a two-story structure of approximately 90,000 square feet serving approximately 700 students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade. The proposed design includes implementing long-lead time mechanical equipment that was pre-purchased by the awarding authority. This equipment is under separate contract with the Owner, and currently in various stages of fabrication. The vendors have committed to having the equipment available for a Summer 2023 installation. While the value and ownership of the equipment is outside of this contract, the remaining equipment, material, and labor to install and provide a completely operational system is as detailed and bid under this contract. A full list of pre-purchased equipment is available in the bid documents, and documentation of the bid to procure such equipment is also provided for prospective bidders' information. The mechanical upgrades and related work associated with this bid/contract is scheduled for the City's 2023 school summer recess, and the systems complete and operational for the beginning of the '23-'24 school year. The work is estimated to cost $2,700,000 with a schedule of 12 weeks. The City of Marlborough seeks to fund this project through federal grants made available by ESSER. Contract award is subject to approval of grant funding and approval of the utilization of grant expenditures for this purpose and/or appropriation. Approved construction projects must comply with applicable Uniform Guidance requirements, as well as the Department of Education's regulations regarding construction at 34 CFR 76.600. Any resulting construction contract must meet Davis-Bacon prevailing wage requirements. All bids are subject to M.G.L. c.149 44A-J & to minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L. c.149 26 to 27H inclusive.
