Description

The improvements consist of furnishing all labor and materials to install pile jackets on pier piles at BR 2-214A (Cow Marsh Road over Cow Marsh Ditch), BR 2-086A (Savannah Road over Muddy Branch) and 3-425 (SR 26 over Vines Creek). Install pile jackets on the pier and abutment piles on BR 2-035A (Carpenter Bridge Road over Murderkill River). Steel shells of cast in place concrete piles originally had a protective coating applied such as coal tar epoxy. Due to age of the bridges and environmental exposure, the protective coating has deteriorated and oxidation has resulted in loss of section of the steel shell. To protect the steel shell, pile jackets will be installed.
