USCG Novato Demolish Water Tower and Building 125 Pump House

WATER TOWER SCOPE OF WORK (BASE WORK): Provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to demolish the superstructure of the Water Tower and perform related utility and site work as indicated. The Contractor is responsible for all required permits, fees, and notifications. The water tower is approximately a 70’ tall and 30’in diameter metal structure, with associated abandoned water piping and a ladder leading to a rooftop with guardrails. The tower is located on a small hilltop above the Alta Vista portion of Novato Family Housing. There is a functional cell tower structure and new water piping in close vicinity which will need to be protected during demolition. See Appendix A, photo A. The work includes the following: 1. Remove and dispose of building demolition debris in accordance with Demolition Debris Management Plan, Asbestos Management Plan, and Lead-Based Paint Management Plan. 2. Demolish complete water tower which includes a full length metal ladder, roof guardrails and water pipes. The concrete pad will remain. For purpose of bidding only, see Appendix C for historical drawings of the tower. A sectional detail of the metal plate is provided. 3. The concrete base foundation will remain in place. 4. Protect the nearby cell tower and existing functional water piping. 5. Maintain existing fencing around the remaining functional pipes, verifying that the functional water pipes will be fully enclosed.
