Replacement of Sump Pump and Monitoring Systems

The Work consists of the following: The elevator pit has a sump pump pit which contains two sump pumps and a monitoring system. This system and components were installed in 2002. The pumps have been replaced in the past. The monitoring system and alarm have not been replaced. At the current time the alarm system is not functional. This system allows the maintenance staff to respond quickly if pumps are failing. The elevator shaft is constructed with cinder blocks. The walls were sealed and waterproofing material installed on both the outside and inside of the shaft. Two weep holes with PVC piping were installed in the wall. Water runs into the pit from this area. It should be noted that the sump pump pit always contains water. It was determined during construction that the basement was installed over a water table. A drainage system was installed under the basement floor with a sump pump. The sump pumps and monitoring system will be replaced in the same footprint. The sump pump pit will not be altered.. All work will be located at Brown V Board of Education NHS in Topeka, KS
