Description | For removal and replacement of existing rolling fire doors. All new rolling fire doors are to be like or similar to Cornell Mfg. rolling fire doors model # ERD10 Product Code KFM 5F 22GW. 21 Awarded vendor shall provide shop drawings for each door installation and for special components not detailed. a. shop drawings are to include all points of attachment, locations of controls, locking devices, detectors, and all other accessories. b. vendor shall provide a product sample for the proposed rolling fire doors or alternate doors. Adams County will reserve the right to approve or decline alternate proposed rolling fire doors. 2Vendor will need to verify current fire door fire ratings. The new rolling fire doors shall match the current fire ratings. A minimum fire rating of the new rolling doors shall be no less than 3 hour. 3All new rolling fire doors will need to fit correctly into all existing openings. 4All new rolling fire doors are to be a one for one replacement. Where the old doors are removed and replaced with new it shall be done in such a fashion that it will not create any corrective construction. 5All new rolling fire doors fusible links, cabling, mechanical components shall be installed to be hidden, out of the reach of inmates. 6All new rolling fire doors shall be U.L classified to ANSI/UL 108 and CAN/UI C-104 and each assembly is to have a fire rating label affixed to each door. 7All rolling fire door where applicable shall have smoke seals applied. 8New rolling fire doors will need to match the existing gauge or heavier to prevent inmate abuse, rolling food cart damage, freight, etc. abuse from damaging the door panels. Doors hall be a minimum of 22 gauge and grade 40 steel components. 9All new rolling fire doors shall be installed with the use of tamper/vandal resistant fasteners. 10 Awarded vendor will be responsible for working with the City of Brighton on ensuring that the replacement rolling fire doors meet their current IBC & NFPA code requirements. 11 All new rolling fires doors shall be provided with high cycling springs and shall withstand 100,000 cycles. 12 Rolling fire doors shall have a bottom bar of 2” exterior and 2” interior to give a total bottom bar measuring 4”. 13 Activation of the fire door shall be completed by (melting of a fusible link, activation of a failsafe releasing device, by notification of central fire alarm system, notification by local smoke & heat detectors. 14 All new rolling fire door curtains, track, guides, heavy duty bottom bars, hood will be priced out as Galvanized steel G29AL 3-3/4”. Please refer to section #11 for alternate pricing for specified colors. 15 All new rolling fire doors will have hood and operator covers to match the final color chosen and shall be installed to be tamper/vandal proof. 16 Once all rolling fire doors have been installed, they will be drop tested for functionality prior to calling for final inspection and certification. 17 Vendor will be responsible for calling and scheduling final testing with the City of Brighton & AHJ. Any and all deficiencies that are notated/filed during the final testing/inspection it will be the awarded vendors responsibility to correct and re-pass inspection. 18 Installing vendor will provide at their cost to Adams County a demonstration of proper operation, testing procedures, resetting procedures and will demonstrate general maintenance procedures. 19 It is Adams County’s preference that if there is a need for replacement parts that there is a recommended local stocking dealer. 20 New rolling fire doors/ rolling fire door curtains will be required to have the interlocking metal slats the continuous width of the door. Splices will not be allowed. 21 Rolling fire door jamb guides: manufactures standard angles or channels of same material and finish as rolling fire door slats unless otherwise noted. Jamb guides will be required to be of sufficient depth, width and strength to retain curtain and allow the curtain to operate smoothly and withstand loading. Jamb guides shall have slotted fastening holes to allow for guide adjustment. 22 Rolling fire door hood shall completely enclose the curtain and all operating components at the opening head. It will be required that the ends of the hood be enclosed/capped with the same gauge of metal. 23 Manufactures warranty of new rolling fire doors shall be a minimum of 2 years. 24 Awarded vendor shall provide a 1year free parts and labor guarantee. |
