Description | Provide arboricultural services including tree pruning, tree and stump removal, tree planting, emergency tree service, “Work Share” service (i.e., City and contractor share in the provision of service), tree inventory work, and recordkeeping in all areas of Salt Lake City. The selected contractor will be required to perform arboricultural services on City owned or City-managed property, as well as private property. 1. Do maintenance pruning for entire crown and branch ends. 2. Remove all deadwood and broken branches ranging from 1 inch in diameter and larger, and all stubs. 3. Cut live branches to improve long term structure and viability. 4. Cut branches overhanging a street, curbside, alley or commercial driveway to provide fourteen (14’) feet of clearance from ground. 5. Cut branches overhanging a park strip, sidewalk, lawn, residential driveway, dwelling/building, traffic signal, traffic sign, mailbox, streetlight district or business district to provide ten (10’) feet of clearance. 6. Get approval from City for variations in feet clearance for branch trimming based on customer requests and for certain tree sizes, species and locations 7. Contractor shall use appropriate selection and application of tree removal techniques which maximize safety and efficiency. The type of trees requiring removal may be highly variable with regard to species, sizes, conditions, locations, and quantities. 8. Contractor shall remove trees designated by City. 9. When requested by City, Contractor shall make arrangements to treat stumps to prevent sprouting if Contractor thinks sprouting is likely. Contractor shall be responsible for eliminating sprouts that occur within twelve months of stump removal and any related expenses. Contractor shall use MSDS sheets for all chemicals that will be used to prevent sprouting. 10. Contractor shall provide emergency tree services to designated trees, as directed by City. 11. During regular business hours, Contractor shall arrive at the service location within thirty (30) minutes of receiving notification from City. 12. At times other than regular business hours, Contractor shall arrive at the service location within sixty (60) minutes of receiving notification from City. 13. Service may be limited to a single occurrence at one location or multiple events throughout the City. |
