Milwaukee Prisoner Elevator Modernization

This project is to replace one passenger elevator at the Milwaukee Federal Building & U.S. Courthouse, 517 E. Wisconsin Avenue, Milwaukee, WI. The building is a historic structure and will be occupied during the project. Loud and disruptive work will need to be done after business hours. Work includes, but is not limited to: 1. replacement of passenger elevator. This elevator has 8 stops, has a front and rear door. New elevator will be Permanent Magnet AC Gearless with Incorporated Emergency Braking and Manual Brake Release. 2. remove and replace existing hoist machine, hoist motor, all associated ropes, motor control, governor and governor rope, and roller guide rollers. existing car sling to remain. 3. remove and replace all existing car door equipment, operators and hoistway door equipment. 4. all cab interior finishes, and car operating panels to be replaced. 5. all hoistway wiring travel cables, hall push buttons, and plates, car position indicators, machine disconnect switch pit lighting and outlets to be replaced and rewired. 6. machine room lighting and outlets to be upgraded to meet code and replacement of all heating and cooling equipment in the machine room. 7. new sump pump and associated piping to be installed in the elevator pit, routed to a drain in the garage area. 8. there is a separate option for all security related work, the GC must use a security contractor from the us marshal service's approved list of vendors as identified in the specification. 9. includes a year of full service warranty with call back service.
