Description

Hazardous Materials Abatement Services Specific Scope of Services: 1 Remove 1 layer of asbestos tile and base per square foot (typical size +/- 500 sq foot) for Hi-Rise unit 2 Remove 1 layer of asbestos tile and base per square foot (typical size +/- 1000 sq foot) for Residential unitPrice for additional layer per square foot 3 Price for wall/ceiling abatement and removal per square foot 4 Typical floor plan for Hi-Rise and Residential units are attached 5 Contractor will be responsible for completing the remediation within 5 business days of notification of the unit assignment 6 Contractor will be responsible for protecting surfaces, floor coverings, windows and other areas not being remediated Bonds: A 5% Bid Bond of the proposed bid amount will be required for the project. This must be submitted with the bid packet. The awarded bidder must provide A Performance Bond and Payment Bond; or 20% cash escrow; or 25% irrevocable letter of credit required for the amount of the contract due at contract signing. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES: When the contractor fails to complete the work within the contract time, the contractor shall pay the Springfield Housing Authority $100.00 for each calendar day that the completion date is delayed beyond the contract time. Including such extensions that the Springfield Housing Authority may grant in accordance with the General Conditions. Permits: The contractor is responsible for all permits, payment of fees and expenses that may be mandated requirement for this project. Davis-Bacon and/or State Prevailing Wage: Attention is called to the fact this is a Davis Bacon and/or State Prevailing Wage project, see attached wage report. Wages are to include fringe benefits if fringe benefits are not being paid. Licensing and Insurance Requirements: Prior to Notice to Proceed (but not as a part of the bid submission) the successful bidder will be required to provide: An original certificate evidencing the bidder's current industrial (worker's compensation) insurance carrier and coverage amount. The SHA reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in the IFB process, or to terminate the IFB process at any time, if deemed by the SHA to be in its best interests.
