Description

As of July 21, 2022, the project has been awarded. A timeline for construction has not been confirmed. South Whitehall Township is soliciting bids for Bridgeview Terrace Water Main Replacement Phase II. This project is subject to Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act and the prevailing wage rates are incorporated into the bid documents. South Whitehall Township reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to accept either in whole or in part any one bid or combination of bids and to accept the bid which it determines in its best interests. Clarification Deadline : 6/6/2022 4:00 PM Work on the project includes construction of new water mains, service lines, valves and fire hydrants, and trench restoration generally described as follows. All excavation performed for the work shall be UNCLASSIFIED. a) Mobilize and install E&S controls as shown on the drawings. Coordinate with South Whitehall Township (SWT)staff on staging area, equipment, and material storage. b) The CONTRACTOR shall retain a professional photographer to videotape the entire project area prior to initiating any work. A copy of the video record shall be provided to the OWNER and ENGINEER. CONTRACTOR shall also take still photographs as needed to supplement the video record. Particular attention shall be paid to landscaping, curbing, driveways, pavement conditions, and pavement markingsc) Install detour signage as directed by Twp. Staff and in accordance with an approved detour plan. Contractor shall coordinate placement of signage and timing of detours with Township staff and Township Police prior to commencing the Work. d) Construct water mains with the appropriate size and class of pipe as shown on the drawings. e) Install fittings, valves, fire hydrants, and thrust blocks in accordance with the drawings and specifications. f) Install all required interconnections to the existing water mains including all fittings and transition couplings, as necessary. g) Install new water service connections where indicated, including connection of new water service lines to the existing customer lines as indicated. h) Test all new water mains in accordance with the specifications. i) Restore all trenches as shown on thedrawings. j) Restore all lawn areas disturbed duringconstriction. k) Mill limits, intersections, and edge of cart way as scheduled. l) Install roadway paving overlay for full cartway. m) Install traffic markings and lines asrequired. n) Restore unpaved areas equal to condition prior to construction. o) Demobilize and remove stored material, equipment, and detour signs.
