Description

**As May 10,2023 the project has not been awarded and a timeline for the award is not yet established.** The City of Troy is soliciting sealed bids for the demolition, removal, and disposal of the former Knickerbacker Pool complex. The selected contractor shall remove all structures, including but not limited to buildings, structures, playground equipment, concrete pads, asphalt drives, fencing, and other various amenities within the "Area of Removals" on the attached exhibit. All fences shall be removed unless the fence is along the residential lot. The Fire hydrant will be removed/relocated by the City's Department of Public Utilities. The City will handle all utility disconnects prior to the contractor beginning work. The City's intention is to preserve all trees on-site. If the contractors wishes to remove a tree to improve access they may do so with prior authorization from the City. All materials shall be disposed in accordance with Federal, State, and local laws. The City will provide asbestos abatement separately. Foundations shall be removed to thirty-six inches (36") below grade. All concrete slabs or asphalt pads shall be removed in their entirety. All retaining walls shall be removed. The site shall be graded with slopes 3:1 (horizontal:vertical) or flatter and stabilized with topsoil, seed, and straw mulch. Any concrete to be disposed of on-site must be processed to 4 inches-minus and buried a minimum of thirty-six inches (36") below grade. Any fill materials placed on site must conform with NYSDOY item 203.3. No debris may be buried on site. The City of Troy reserves the right to salvage any materials at its sole discretion. The contractor shall make the site available for this work, as required. Any playground equipment the City wishes to keep will be salvaged by the City and at their expense. In order to qualify for bidding, contractor should have past working relationship with the City of Troy in the last six (6) years and be based within a 50-mile radius of project location. Bidders that do not meet this requirement shall have opportunity to meet with Engineering Department to review references.
