Repairs to Big Brook Park Swimming Pool

General description of the work to be performed under this Contract shall include but will not be limited to the following construction operations: 1. Repair a twelve foot (12’) horizontal crack along the northern pool wall, between the 3’-6” and 4’ pool depths. Chip off plaster around crack, sand, and patch. 2. Coordinate schedule with Park staff to lower pool water level below the crack. 3. Remove all existing sealant from joint under gutter drain 4. Install a thin bead of sealant in joint below gutter drain, feathering where sealant meets each return. Work will be performed using waders and working from above, from the concrete decking. 5. Inspect and evaluate each pool return, and determine extent of repair needed for each return, to ensure water flows into the pool unimpeded. 6. Submit detail sketches of proposed repair methods to Owner for approval, prior to repair. Perform repairs around each return as needed, including, chamfering the tiles below individual returns with a “dish”, so return water flows unimpeded. 7. Additional methods of repair may include, but are not necessarily limited to the following: a. Remove tile below gutter drain as needed to recontour into the wall, specifically in the areas under individual water returns, to have the wall offset ¼” behind the gutter. Re-install tiles under gutter drain.
