Description | As of 12/19/22 Addendum 1 is available. The Boston Ave. Bridge replacement project is part of the Resilient St. Vrain Project (RSVP) which is a multi-year, multi-phase flood recovery project to restore the St. Vrain Greenway and protect people and property from future flood risks. The project relocates the South Francis intersection to the west and includes reconstruction of S. Francis between Boston Ave. and River Road. This project replaces the Boston Avenue Bridge over St. Vrain Creek located just east of the South Francis Street intersection. The new bridge will be longer and wider than the existing bridge. The new structure includes pre-stressed concrete box girders set on two concrete piers and two concrete abutments. The piers and abutments will sit on concrete columns built on 24 inch, 30 inch and 54 inch drilled concrete caissons. The bridge deck will be concrete with an asphalt wear surface. This project makes multi-modal improvements including widened sidewalks over the bridge, improved on street bike lanes and replacement of the St. Vrain greenway underpass. The new St. Vrain Greenway trail will include a 10 foot wide concrete trail with an adjacent 3 foot wide crusher fine path. The reconstructed greenway trail underpass is designed to have a lower likelihood of having to close due to flooding. The project also includes construction of modular block retaining walls and creek channel improvements. Channel improvements include; a cobble lined low flow channel, floodplain benches, native trees, shrubs, bushes, grasses and wetland plantings and a landscape irrigation system similar to downstream reaches of the RSVP. Minimum Qualifications: Contractor must be fully qualified for work requested under this bid. Contractor must have completed at least three (3) projects of similar scope and complexity to this project that were adjacent to a watercourse on a commercial collector roadway in an urban setting within the last seven (7) years. The Contractor's project management team (project manager and job site superintendents) must have experience constructing a similar bridge and channel within the last 5 years. Bonding Requirements - Bid Bond 5 % - Performance Bond 100 % - Labor and Materials Bond 100 % Question Acceptance Deadline 01/04/2023 07:00 PM EST Questions are submitted online No |
