Description

Mitigating the risk of catastrophic wildfire to residents and neighbors of the Broadmoor Resort Community and surrounding neighborhoods. The intent is to reduce fuel loading and modify fuel structure by limbing, thinning live standing vegetation, and modifying/chipping downed vegetation. Removal will include live, dying, dead, and downed trees. No vegetation is to be harvested or removed from the project sites with the intention of saw log or firewood sales. The total project area is APPROXIMATELY 52.7 Acres (Phase 1: 20.6 Acres; Phase 2: 13.8 Acres; and Phase 3: 18.3 Acres) with vegetation consisting of mixed conifer (Ponderosa pine, spruce, fir, cedar, etc.), Gambel oak, mixed deciduous shrubs, and grassy meadows. The acreage is subject to change due to limitations of terrain, equipment, weather, ecological and wildlife conditions or requirements.
