Description

This project proposes a 36-inch diameter extension of the existing Saluda River Force Main in order to reroute the force main outfall into the City’s gravity sewer system. The force main will extend for approximately 3,500 linear feet and include a trenchless crossing of the Saluda River. The project is a component of the City of Columbia Clean Water 2020 Program. The City’s Designer is currently in the preliminary design phase of the project. Construction work for the project is estimated to commence in June 2022, substantial completion of the project is estimated for April 2023, and final completion of the project is estimated for June 2023 ("Project Schedule"). The Owner anticipates using a Construction Manager At Risk ("CMAR") project delivery approach during design for preconstruction services and construction of the project. A Guaranteed Maximum Price ("GMP") and an updated Project Schedule will be established by the Owner and the CMAR pursuant to the Construction Management Agreement.
