Description

Vallemar School will install 5 portable classrooms over existing asphalt this fall, to serve as swing space to enable construction to a classroom building starting Jan 2023. The project includes a new fire line and fire hydrant, electrical, fire alarm, data/ low voltage. Work does not include utilities of water, sewer, or storm drain. Work also includes small asphalt transition ramp, fencing, minor demolition. A. Installation: Installation of a new fire line and fire hydrant; electrical, fire alarm, data/ low voltage, clock and speaker system, serving the five new portables; All conduits and wires shall be concealed in walls and ceilings. small asphalt transition ramp at the end of portable metal ramp; chain link fence and service gate; room control signage at the portable exterior doors; demolition of a few existing basketball pole and backstop in conflict with the new portables. B. Disconnection, removal and patch back: At the portable removal, disconnect all electrical, data/low voltage, fire alarm, clock and speaker systems. Restore and reprogram all services affected. See electrical drawings for point of termination. For portable removal purposes, all wiring and conduits entering the portables shall be cut off at the portable exterior wall. All conduits and wiring attached to the exterior of the portables shall be removed. Any wiring and conduits left inside the portables do not need removal. Any fire alarm devices installed on the portables do not require removal. Remove asphalt transition ramps and patch back to pre-ramp condition patch back asphalt caused by portable foundation. Remove the chain link fence and gate. Fill holes with concrete. C. The following work is directly contracted with the District but the GC under this contract shall schedule, arrange, coordinate and manage services provided by the following parties: 1) Mobil Modular will provide and install the portables, metal ramp, closure panel between the portables. The portables are equipped with HVAC, interior lighting, all interior electrical outlets, white boards. 2) Mobil Modular will remove and haul away the portables; 3) Staking of the portable location; 4) Intrusion Alarm installation and disconnect by Bay Alarm. D. Temporary Construction Fence is required for the duration of the project. E. Work does not include: 1) sink water, sewer, or storm drain. The following work is directly contracted with the District but scheduling, installation and services shall be arranged and managed by the General Contractor: Mobil Modular will provide and installation the portables; Staking of the portable location; Intrusion Alarm by Bay Alarm. The work also includes disconnecting the utilities when the portables are being removed at the end of school year in June 2023, scheduling portable removal and haul away, removing any asphalt transition ramps and any asphalt patch backs.The entire operation shall be enclosed with temporary construction fencing with fabric screen. Prequalification of the General Contractor, bid bond, other bonds and insurances and prevailing wage are required for the project. Contractors that have already been prequalified on previous projects with the District within a year do not need to resubmit for prequalification. No bidder may withdraw his bid/proposal for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening bids. The District reserves the right to reject any and all bid/proposals and to waive any informalities or irregularities in any bid.
