Windy Oaks Subdivision – Storm Water Management System Improvements, Phase 2

The project is located between CR 600 W and CR 675 Won the north side of CR 250 S in the Windy Oaks Subdivision. The sub-division is located in Section 14,Township 34 North, Range 7 West, in Porter Township, Porter County, Indiana. The project consists of the improvement to the detention basin outletand overflow route, reconstructionof the culvert carrying the outlet andoverflow route under CR 250 S, andenhancements to the detentionbasin. The overall purpose of theproject is to enhance the drainageand storm water managementservices provided to the surround-ing property owners by improvingthe area’s storm water infrastruc-ture.The project includes installation ofstorm sewer, via open trenchconstruction, including stripping top-soil, excavation, bedding, layingstorm sewer, placing initial backfill,haunching, placing final backfill,replacing topsoil, shaping, trimming,and finishing, and cleaning, inspect-ing, and testing; installation of stormsewer structures, including strippingtopsoil, excavation, bedding, settingprecast reinforced concrete drain-age structures, placing adjustingrings and castings, backfilling,replacing topsoil, shaping, trimming,and finishing, and cleaning. It willalso include enhancements to theexisting detention basin serving theWindy Oaks subdivision, includingstripping topsoil, excavation and/orfill, replacing topsoil, and shaping,trimming, and finishing.The project will also include roadcut and repair work as needed toconstruct the new infrastructure,including across CR 250 S anddriveways within the Windy OaksSubdivision. It will also include theinstallation maintenance of a con-struction entrance and constructionaccess route and the restoration ofstorm sewer trenches, the detentionbasin, and other areas disturbedduring the performance of the work.
