Description

Proposed Project will be a Competitive, Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) Contract for the John Day HVAC Upgrades: - Removal/replacement of the existing chiller/heater units - Installation of a new redundant chiller/heater unit to provide backup capacity - Removal/replacement of the existing air handling units located throughout the powerhouse (excludes the main field-fabricated AHU but does includes associated ductwork and piping) - Upgrades for the existing field-fabricated AHU and RF-1 as needed to meet current ventilation, pressurization and control requirements (includes electrostatic filter replacement) - Removal/replacement of the existing pneumatic HVAC controls throughout the powerhouse with new direct digital HVAC controls; installation to include a new front-end system in the powerhouse’s control room to allow overall, instantaneous HVAC system monitoring/control - Installation of new HVAC equipment in the Generator Bays to improve comfort conditions during summer periods - Modification/replacement of existing ventilation equipment throughout the powerhouse (e.g., supply fans, exhaust fans, etc.) as necessary to meet current ventilation/pressurization requirements - Modification/replacement of existing hot/chilled water distribution piping and valves as necessary to satisfy the new HVAC equipment/systems - Replacement/modification of the HVAC systems within the existing administrative office areas to ensure proper heating/cooling, ventilation, and energy efficiency - Integrate new HVAC systems with the existing fire protection systems and controls - Ensure all HVAC systems comply with all applicable life safety mandates - Removal/replacement of existing asbestos/lead-based paint associated with equipment/systems that will be disturbed as part of this project - General demolition requirements associated with equipment, piping, valving, controls, etc. - General phasing requirements associated with the demolition/construction
