Description | The rehabilitation of six (6) multi-media potable water filters, with each containing 408 square feet of bedding area. Four (4) filters have Leopold clay tile underdrains with support gravel. The remaining two (2) filters have Leopold Superblock ll with direct retention media caps. Mobilization of equipment and labor to the proposed jobsite (Springfield, TN Water Treatment Plant). • Provide portable restroom for workers. • Provide a roll off dumpster for construction generated waste. • Assist with scheduling and off-loading of inbound media (supplied by contractor). • Vacuum removal of existing filter media (and support gravel if needed) above the underdrain. • Incurring transportation and disposal of existing filter media. • Hi pressure washing the interior of the filter basin, wash water troughs, and surface wash supply piping to remove debris. • Visual inspection of underdrain and grout (and IMS cap if applicable) reporting deficiencies to owner. • Installation of media per OEM design and per AWWA B100 guidelines. • Sterilization of filter basin per AWWA C653, with bacteriological testing by owner. • Upon completion of final filter, performing final cleanup and demobilization of labor and equipment. • Any other performance of work (not known to owner) that may be required not listed above. • All media and support gravel be packaged in super sacks and shipped on pallets on flatbed trucks. • Rehabilitation of filters is requested to be one at a time, which allows the treatment plant to operate under normal conditions. The Owner shall provide an operator to perform all filter controls during the project. All water used in the project shall be free of charge to the bidder |
