2021 Paving and Overlay Project

The Project consists of asphalt surfacing including approximately 1830’ of asphalt overlay at an average compacted thickness of 2” for a total of approximately 742 ton. Widths of the asphalt paving vary from 34’ to 36’. The asphalt adjacent to the curb pan will be tapered down from 2” to 1” in the outer 5 feet. The project also includes 481 ton of 4” asphalt concrete surfacing placed in 2 - 2” lifts. The site of the Overlay Work includes designated work areas generally described as: Bismark Street from Elm Street to Main Street; Bismark Street from Ash Street to Glynn Drive; and Ash Street from Railroad Street to Ben Street, all within the City of Parkston, SD. The site of the new Asphalt Concrete Surfacing shall be 525’ on Redwood Street beginning 330’ west of 4th Street and continuing west, all within the City of Parkston, SD. Mobilization, Lump Sum; Class E Asphalt Concrete Composite with PG 54-28 Binder - Overlays, 742 tons; Class E Asphalt Concrete Composite with PG 64-28 Binder - New Paving, 481 tons. The following shall be incidental to the Mobilization bid item: Asphalt for Tack applied at the width of the asphalt paving, adjustment of water valves to 0.5” below finished surface, sweeping of streets immediately prior to paving, and necessary Traffic Control.
