Description | As of 7/26/2022, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not been established. The City of Athens is seeking quotations from a qualified contractor for the installation of underground chemical feed lines at our North Wastewater Facility Install new 1 1/2 " schedule 40 PVC which will serve as a casing for 1/2 " chemical resistant tubing. Tubing will connect the 1-ton cylinder to the feed system. The selected contractor shall call for dig checks and locates prior to any trenching or digging and adhere to all City codes. Generally, the selected contractor shall perform the following: Contractor shall be responsible for acquiring supplies and materials needed to complete this project. Contractor shall be responsible for ditching and backfill, PVC piping and tubing. Approximately 100 feet of trenching will be needed, 2 sch40, 1 1/2 " PVC pipes, underground. 1/2 " tubing in each pipe, one for Chlorine, one for Sulfur Dioxide. Contractor shall be responsible for the wiring for all connections, from supply cylinders to feed system. Contractor shall furnish testing for proper operation. Any additional work or cost shall be approved by the City prior to said work or cost occurs. Insurance is required in the performance of this work. Contractor will be required to have and maintain Statutory Workers Compensation Insurance, and Commercial General Liability insurance with limits of not less than $500,000 per occurrence and $1,000,000 aggregate prior to starting work. The City reserves the right to establish that these insurance requirements are met and complied with prior to any contractual agreement being entered into. The cost of such insurance is the service provider's responsibility. Failure to comply could result in non-award of the contract.
