Description

The work includes replacement of existing historic wood double hung and fixed exterior windows with matching prefinished double hung aluminum clad wood windows, replacement of existing single hung fire rated exterior steel windows with prefinished heavy single hung fire rated steel windows, replacement of fixed fire rated exterior steel windows with prefinished fixed fire rated steel windows, replacement of historic wood trim surrounding double hung wood and single hung steel windows with matching prefinished aluminum extrusions, rehabilitation of existing historic round top window pair to remain above the main entry doors, and related exterior repair and painting of the historic NC Labor Building at 4 West Edenton St Raleigh, NC 27601. The Labor Building, built in 1887, is a contributing building to the downtown Raleigh, NC Capitol Historic District and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. All work on the historic Labor Building shall conform to best practices for historic restoration and rehabilitation. Matching of historic paint colors for sash color (dark red) and frame and trim color (blue green) will be required for all prefinished replacement windows, trim, and exterior painting, matching the placement of the historic colors on the existing building.
