Description | Provide all labor, materials, appurtenances, and incidentals to make the system whole for the installation of an 8” sewer force main located on Trailwood Drive in the Town of St. James. Work includes, but is not limited to, the installation of approximately 280 linear feet of 8” diameter C900 DR-18 FPVC via HDD method, erosion control, clearing and grubbing, sewer pumping and hauling, and interconnections as per the attached plans and specifications. There are two (2) tie-ins at the following locations: (1) within an existing Brunswick County easement off of the St. James Plantation driving range, and (2) within an existing easement off of Trailwood Drive. The easement can be accessed by both St. James Drive and Trailwood Drive. The thirty (30) foot wide easement area is to be cleared and grubbed from the entrance point on St. James Drive to the proposed exit bore pit location and the entrance point on Trailwood Drive to the proposed entry bore pit location. To ensure all work is performed in the easement, Contractor shall survey the easement to be cleared and provide construction staking. Contractor is to verify and include all necessary clearing, grubbing, surveying, construction staking, etc. in their lump sum bid price. Easement information and a map showing the replacement section and clearing areas is included in the attachments section. The tie-ins will be performed during a single overnight shutdown. The decommissioned above-ground line is to be removed and disposed of properly. Contractor will be responsible for all equipment and materials to perform a proper shutdown to make the interconnections. This may include, but not limited to, bypass pumps, pump truck(s) of appropriate size, vac truck(s), etc. A minimum of seventy-two (72) hours’ notice must be provided to Brunswick County before a shutdown can take place. Brunswick County will assist in valving the system to stop or minimize flow for the shutdown. Sewer will be diverted to the Trailwood Pump Station, which is currently not in use, and can be hauled to St.James Pump Station #3 located approximately four (4) miles away at 3627 Oceanic Drive. A map of the pump and haul locations is included in the attachments section. |
