Description | The project includes the repair and refurbishment of two (2) cooling tower units at the Smith Student Center on the campus of Slippery Rock University. a.This scope of work applies to the two (2) cooling towers [ Baltimore Air Coil ( BAC ) series 1500 closed circuit cooling tower (FXV) Model # FXV-431-LM ] herein referred to as Tower #1 and Tower #2. b.Repair and refurbishment refers to both manual and chemical cleaning of both water tower’s components/system per manufactures recommendation and B.A.C. assembly instruction memo # 0146 Dated 07/22/08 or the most current version- see attached. c.Remove all media’s, remove fill station, drain basin and remove debris. d.Clean entire inside walls and basin in preparation for new coating on entire inside of tower. Apply C.I.M. 1000 Commercial Industrial Membrane (see attached specifications) or other manufacturer-approved epoxy coating. Allow cure time for new coating, not to exceed four (4) days. e.Furnish and install new fill system to include spray nozzles, furnish and install new media system, including galvanized supports. Ensure all fittings are greased, rinse and refill basin/tower, perform chemical treatment and return to operational status. Run any and all tests needed to confirm proper operation f.The work described in items (b) and (c) above apply to both Tower #1 and Tower #2. One of the two towers shall remain operational while work on the other is performed and completed. g.Contractor is responsible for site cleanup |
