Description | sealed proposals are sought and requested by the Carle Place Garbage District, Carle Place, New York, for the contract for removal of garbage, rubbish, ashes, tin cans, newspapers and other recyclables and refuse within the Carle Place Garbage District as follows: 1. For the year 2023; or 2. For the year 2023, with a one (1) year option; or 3. For the years 2023, 2024 and 2025, a three (3) year term Each contract will contain the following general provisions, to wit: 1. garbage, rubbish, ashes, tin cans, newspapers and other recyclables and refuse, etc., to be removed in motor driven trucks as provided in the form of proposal to be furnished by the Commission. 2. The contractor is to provide for the disposal of all refuse, garbage, etc. as designated. The use of a dumping ground is specifically prohibited. 3. Garbage, rubbish, trash and ash cans, after being emptied, are to be returned to the place from which they were removed. 4. The contract shall run, beginning January 1, 2023, for a period of: (a) one (1) year, (or) (b) one year with an option for the District to renew for an additional year, (or) (c) in the alternative, three (3) years, beginning January 1, 2023. 5. The contract shall provide for compliance with any and all rules and regulations for recycling of materials, as specified or required by any agency of the federal, state and/or local government. 6. Proposals shall be made and received upon the following conditions: ALL proposals must be in writing and on forms to be furnished by the Commissioners of the Carle Place Garbage District. Each proposal must be accompanied by a deposit of a certified check payable to JAMES MEZEY, Treasurer, CARLE PLACE GARBAGE DISTRICT, Carle Place, New York, and/or a surety bond by a bonding company authorized to do business in the State of New York, which surety bond shall be addressed to the Carle Place Garbage District, as principal, for a sum of ten (10%) percent of the bid price, which will be forfeited to said district as liquidated damages in case an award is made and the contract and bond are not properly executed within seven (7) days after the successful bidder shall have been notified by the said District. If the successful bidder shall execute the contract and produce the bond within the aforesaid time, his deposit and/or bonds except that of the successful bidder will be returned within two (2) days after the contract is awarded. A security bond (from a surety company authorized to do business in the State of New York) in the sum of fifty (50%) percent of the amount of the awarded contract will be required of the contractor to whom the award is given conditioned for the faithful and prompt performance of all the terms and conditions of the contract, and such bond must be executed within seven (7) days after the successful bidder is notified of the acceptance of the bidder's proposal. The Carle Place Garbage Commission reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to accept any bids which it may deem to be for the best interest of said district |
