Csx Culvert Improvement Project

SCOPE OF WORK • Generally, the scope of work consists of survey, engineering, permitting, bidding and construction administration for the installation of 2 additional 48-inch diameter culverts under the CSX railroad at the identified location. • Hydraulic analysis to verify the adequacy of two additional 48-inch diameter culverts to carry the 25-year, 50-year and 100-year storm events. • Hydraulic analysis to verify the culvert improvements will not have an adverse impact to downstream properties. Initial evaluations indicate that an evaluation limit from the culvert crossing to a tributary to the Neuse River just southeast of I-95 should be sufficient. Consultant shall however, make the determination as to whether or not the analysis needs to extend further along the tributary and potentially to the Neuse River to assure no adverse impacts. • Coordinate with CSX as needed for design review and permitting. Consultant must be familiar with and comply with all of the CSX design guidelines. The Town has submitted a CSX Transportation – New Project Initiation Form and CSX has assigned a GEC to handle the project. • Coordinate the bidding process. Provide a bid certification and make a recommendation of award. • Provide construction inspection and administration services. The scope of the CEI work will be coordinated with the selected Firm during the fee agreement phase. • Provide any project close-out documents, as-builts, etc. as may be required by CSX
