Description | **As of July 29, 2022 this project has not yet been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded on August 11, 2022.** The Southington Board of Education is accepting bids Boiler Replacement at Strong Elementary School Bids and RFP Invitations Sealed bid envelopes are to be returned to the address below with the bid number clearly marked on the outside of the envelope. Purchasing Office Board of Education 200 North Main Street Southington CT 06489 Kaiya Hill Accounting Manager BID-2023-05 (860) 628-3200 ext. 10215 o All material, labor, fasteners, tools, equipment, supervision, permits, insurance, licensing, layout, handling of materials and all other things necessary to complete the removal and boiler replacement work. All work shall be new and of first quality. All Work shall be in accordance with applicable State and Local Building Codes & Regulations, OSHA and similar Occupational, Safety and Health requirements and regulations, and good construction practices. o Disconnection, removal and proper disposal of existing boiler. o Furnish, install and assembly of a Smith 28HE-RTS-W-14 boiler with Power Flame Modulation: C3-0 straight oil burner with direct spark ignition. o Furnish and install all necessary pipe valves and fittings, including (2) 5" butterfly valves. All pipe work to be grooved fittings. o Furnish and install all oil piping required to connect the new burner to the existing oil feed lines. o Furnish and install all galvanized wall pipe to connect the boiler vent to the existing breeching. Repair any deficiencies in the existing piping. o Furnish and install all pipe insulation on water piping with 1" fiberglass pipe wrap. o Furnish and install all line and low voltage electrical work including communication with the energy management system. o Start-up of the boiler under the direction of an authorized Smith representative with instructions to SPS on all systems as required. o All fire caulk or fire stopping required for penetrations through fire / smoke walls o All necessary shoring, scaffolds, rigging, bracing, handling, unloading of items supplied under this contract or by others but installed by this trade. o All areas shall be kept in a broom clean condition daily |
