Description | WFO MKX has a 125 kW emergency power generator that powers the WFO’s operations. This EPG is having mechanical problems and is at the end of life and requires replacement. The existing EPG is sized to handle the current electrical demands from this building. The building’s load was analyzed internally by NWS and it was calculated that the building’s electrical demand was154.02 kVA. This total demand includes a 25% contingency. The site’s utility bills for the last 12 months were reviewed and the max kW demand was only 65720 kWh – confirming that a single 115-130 kW EPG, with a Diesel engine, can handle the full building electrical load. The project for WFO MKX should include the following: Supply: 1. Diesel driven 115 – 130 KW 480 volt 3phase generator with battery charging/maintainer. 2. An automatic load bank to insure 80% load is maintained. 3. Coolant heater. 4. Oil pan heater. 5. Transfer switch appropriately sized for the generator, with a manual test control. 6. 25 gallon day tank with controller and pump. 7. Replace the Remote annunciator panel, capable of monitoring generator status, day tank status, commercial power connected or on generator. To include any cables needed to ensure proper operation of the new equipment if needed. 8. Supply software updates for the generator and transfer switch for 5 years. 9. Supply maintenance and repair and parts manuals for the generator, engine and transfer switch. 10. Freight and delivery to the site. 12. Contractor will provide temporary EPG service for any down time required under this project. 13. Remove and reuse existing louvers and actuators for the removal and installation of the generator into the building. 14. Remove and dispose of the existing 175 kW EPG. This include the removal of the muffler and exhaust system. 15. Install new generator. This includes installing a new muffler and exhaust system with a rain cap at the exhaust discharge point, in accordance with all applicable codes and regulations. 16. Install day tank and insure proper operation. 17. Install transfer switch, insure proper operation set exerciser to run once a month for an hour, train personnel on the operation of the transfer switch. 18. Remove existing annunciator panel and Install the remote annunciator panel. 19. Preform initial start-up tests for the generator. Provide training of the operation to personnel. Supply service manuals and parts manuals for the generator, engine and transfer switch. 20. Insure all equipment is properly grounded. According to all applicable standards. 21. Remove existing tank level monitoring system and install a new tank level monitoring system with both an audible and visual alarm. That monitors, over fill above 90% full, leakage of fuel to second wall of tank. 22. Install an AXI FPS-SX-F or equivalent fuel polishing system. 2.5 gpm/150gph. 1/3hp single phase, 110v 60 Hz electric motor continuous duty thermally protected. Gear pump. 23. Supply and connect a 110 volt electrical circuit for the fuel polishing system from existing power panel. |
