RFP - Architectural and Engineering Services

The purpose for this request for proposal is to select an experienced and qualified firm (hereinafter referred to as the Firm) with architectural and engineering experience in New York State public schools that will provide these services for Valley Stream Union Free School District Thirty (hereinafter referred to as the District). The Firm will serve as the Districts architect of record and provide the required architectural and engineering services. The District may have upcoming Capital Projects at its buildings it owns. Board of Education award, June 13, 2022 The contract period will commence July 1, 2022, or from the date the successful vendor is approved by the Board of Education if subsequent to this date, and continue through June 30, 2023. The District reserves the right to renew this contract from July 1st to June 30th of each subsequent year for up to four (4) years upon approval of the Board of Education for each year. Any future renewals will take place at the annual Reorganization meeting of the Board of Education. Any capital projects already commenced and filed with New York State Education Department may be excluded from this agreement. Preparation of all required documents, from project inception to final completion of the project, working with the facilities planning division of New York State Education Department (NYSED) and other State and Local authorities. Documents shall include, but not be limited to: a. Architectural plans and details; b. Demolition plans, details and schedules, as appropriate; c. Electrical plans, details, and schedules, as appropriate; d. Mechanical plans, details, and schedules, as appropriate; e. Interior and exterior finish plans, details, and schedules (including color selection); Proposals shall be irrevocable for a minimum period of ninety (90) days from the date of proposal opening. Alterations to said proposals must be submitted in writing. Consideration shall be given only to those alterations, which may be caused by unforeseen circumstances beyond the control of the firm submitting said proposal. The Assistant Superintendent for Business or his/her designee shall make such determination. All inquiries related to this RFP shall be in writing to the District.
