Description

Project Location: a. Leake Central Elementary: 603 MS-16, Carthage, MS 39051. b. Leake Central Junior High School: 801 Martin Luther King Dr, Carthage, MS 39051. c. Leake Central High School: 704 N. Jordan St., Carthage, MS 39051. d. Leake County Elementary: 1280 School St., Walnut Grove, MS 39189. e. Leake County High School: 220 Spruce St, Walnut Grove, MS 39189. f. Leake Career and Technical Center: 703 N West Street, Carthage, MS 39051. Project Description: This project includes the removal and replacement of existing mechanical equipment and the electrical upgrades required for the new mechanical systems throughout four (4) campuses in the Leake County School District. Removal and replacement of water fountains throughout six (6) campuses and the removal of existing flush valves/faucets to replace with new touchless flush valves/faucets across five (5) campuses in the Leake County School District. Included in the work is the partial removal and replacement of layin acoustical tile, putting new vents through wood ceiling, as well as removing existing unit pads and pouring new unit pads for the new units. Also included in the work are the structural upgrades necessary to withstand new units installed on top of existing flat roof systems and repairing any damage to existing flat roof systems caused during the renovation. Proposals shall be submitted in duplicate only upon the blank proposal forms provided with the specifications and must be accompanied by Proposal Security in the form of a Certified Check or acceptable Bid Bond in the amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the Base Bid: such security to be forfeited as liquidated damages, not penalty, by any bidder who fails to carry out the terms of the proposal, execute a contract and post-Performance and Payment Bonds in the form and amount within the time specified. The Bid Bond, if used, shall be payable to the Owner. BID SECURITY: Bid security shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of 5 percent of the bid amount. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 90 days after opening of bids. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities. TIME OF COMPLETION AND LIQUIDATED DAMAGES: Successful bidder shall begin the Work on receipt of the Notice to Proceed and shall complete the Work by Substantial Completion Date August 3, 2023.
